In the 6th minute Egídio Tinoco shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jacobo Nores saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 8th minute, Egídio Tinoco left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Capivariano F.C. fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-0. Ernani Paraíba's late challenge caught a Paraguay's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Ernani Paraíba helped the player get up and apologised. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 7-0.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Egídio Tinoco made a kick off. After some fancy dribbling in the 52nd minute, Ernani Paraíba managed to get in a good position for a shot. Capivariano F.C.'s supporters rose to their feet, but Ernani Paraíba was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Capivariano F.C.'s Lukas Martinsson got a good chance for a goal in the 91st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Capivariano F.C. fans cheered their team off the field, for while Paraguay had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
