Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Emanuel Barbu's shot from short distance in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 69th minute of play forced FC Szczucin's goalkeeper Iwan Swoboda to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 72 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Emanuel Barbu came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Luis Andino's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iwan Swoboda read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 73rd minute of play. After a rather tough play, FC Szczucin's Edgar Zima got a free kick in the 77th minute. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 80th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Iwan Swoboda having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Barbu, who was totally free with the ball in the 83rd minute. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 87th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After some fancy dribbling in the 91st minute, Emanuel Barbu managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC Szczucin's supporters rose to their feet, but Emanuel Barbu was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Julio Vera breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Ecuador played a much better game than FC Szczucin and deserved their victory. The FC Szczucin players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
