To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 32 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Hugo Alcântara came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 33rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Gelu Lepuș having to interfere. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Hugo Alcântara, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Agustín Saelices sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Hugo Alcântara made a kick off. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Ediberto da Rocha during the 52nd minute. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Gelu Lepuș breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 80thth minute of the game Válbson Paiva who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Juan Sebastián Puig hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. Hugo Alcântara recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 86th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 88th minute of play forced Cadu Team's goalkeeper Gelu Lepuș to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's Diego Mancebo was substituted for Cristian Sancho. In the 92nd match minute, Cadu Team was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mazinho Barreto to maneuver through the defense. Gelu Lepuș acted impressively in front of the goal and made a superb save when he, in the 93rd minute, took the ball on the long shot from Daniel Zorita. Gelu Lepuș made a fantastic save in the 96th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target.
