Spectators: 42 (Terracing: 32, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Daniel Zorita started the match with the kick off. Agamenón Gutierrez scored 1-0 in the 2nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 8 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Ecuador's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Cebollas the free kick. Daniel Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 8th minute of the match. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agamenón Gutierrez in the 9th minute of play. Agamenón Gutierrez sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Agamenón Gutierrez in the 11th minute. Sarracino De la Rosa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 14th minute of the match. 16 minutes into the match, Cebollas's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Sarracino De la Rosa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 17th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Cristian Sancho fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 22nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Sarracino De la Rosa having to interfere. In the 25th match minute, Cebollas was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ximun Alabern to maneuver through the defense. After having played for 26 minutes, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Cristian Sancho was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Agamenón Gutierrez blasted a shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Agamenón Gutierrez, who was totally free with the ball in the 29th minute. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Cebollas's goalkeeper Sarracino De la Rosa, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Agamenón Gutierrez fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 41st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. With his leg Julio Vera managed to avoid a goal in the 44thth minute, when Cebollas's Agamenón Gutierrez fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 2-0 at half-time.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Agamenón Gutierrez was the one to do the kick off. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Agamenón Gutierrez in the 52nd minute of the match. 59 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Agamenón Gutierrez came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Sarracino De la Rosa stood somewhat misplaced when Felix Montenegro came free in front of goal and shot 2-1 to the left of him in the 64 minute. Cristian Sancho took the ball and in the 67 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Sarracino De la Rosa. Sarracino De la Rosa dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-2. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agamenón Gutierrez in the 74th minute of play. After 76 minutes of play, Cebollas's Agamenón Gutierrez made it 3-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Sarracino De la Rosa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Daniel Zorita in the 80th minute. In the 81st match minute, Ecuador was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Camilo Gisbert to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Agamenón Gutierrez in the 82nd minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ximun Alabern hit a great freekick 83 minutes into the match. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Michel Ponce De Leon, who was totally free with the ball in the 88th minute. In the 92nd minute Agamenón Gutierrez shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ecuador were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
