The La Pointe Courte players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Peru were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Julian Murillo to make the kick off. After a rather tough play, La Pointe Courte's Cidro Flores got a free kick in the 50th minute. Emmanuel Reyes hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. La Pointe Courte's Jolan Galindo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 64th minute of the match, managed to save La Pointe Courte from getting a goal against them. La Pointe Courte's Yves Leite was substituted for Roch Felenak. The corner led to Peru's Alonso Berganza getting away a dangerous shot that went just outside the goal. The audience thought a goal was coming when Julian Murillo got free with Jolan Galindo in the 70th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gianluca Prestin, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dan Black kicked well hit freekick during the 83rd minute of the match. The throw-in from Emmanuel Reyes in the 85th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by La Pointe Courte's Dan Black. The audience thought a goal was coming when Rafael Gallo got free with Jolan Galindo in the 89th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 90th minute of the match Peru got a corner. La Pointe Courte's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eliseo Mina ran over to the corner to take the kick. Eliseo Alcocer made a great header on Peru's corner, it was just that La Pointe Courte's Jolan Galindo managed to reach the ball for a save. If Yves Leite had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Yves Leite, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Milagros Fraga struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Jolan Galindo didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Peru. When the final whistle sounded Peru left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than La Pointe Courte.
