Cassius Byrne started the match with the kick off. Georgi Velinov took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jenson Smith, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Arnulfo Roderigo got free with Marco Day in the 8th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Georgi Velinov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Edward Mcdonald in the 11th minute of play. Marco Day made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ahmet Refik Ülgü in the 15th minute of play. In the 17th minute of the match, Arnulfo Roderigo tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Marco Day saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. 18 minutes into the match, FC CSKA's goal looked a bit too open when Monty Rogers came free, but Georgi Velinov reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ahmet Refik Ülgü could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Marco Day made a huge save. With a little luck, USA's Marco Day got control of the ball when Ahmet Refik Ülgü tried to sneak it across the goal line. Georgi Velinov made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-1. After having played for 63 minutes, Monty Rogers managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. USA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Monty Rogers was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. FC CSKA's Marian Pachev was substituted for Tanel Kiik. Ren Yan Qing hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. USA made a substitution. Sam Campbell replaced Cassius Byrne. The supporters of USA booed when FC CSKA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Ren Yan Qing didn't get a good kick on the ball. Monty Rogers took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 69th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Georgi Velinov. FC CSKA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Arnulfo Roderigo in the 71st minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ahmet Refik Ülgü received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 74th minute. Marco Day tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. FC CSKA made a substitution. Asparuh Genovski replaced Ahmet Refik Ülgü. USA's Marco Day played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Arnulfo Roderigo in the 77th minute of play. In the 77th minute Arnulfo Roderigo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marco Day saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Georgi Velinov made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sam Campbell in the 79th minute of play. Sam Campbell who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 81stth minute tested the skills of Georgi Velinov when he managed to save the team from getting behind. In the 82nd minute, Fabian Brown hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 83rd minute, Bradley de Nooijer managed to get in a good position for a shot. FC CSKA's supporters rose to their feet, but Bradley de Nooijer was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Marco Day breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. An unexpectedly hard shot by Asparuh Genovski in the 86th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. USA's Sam Campbell got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The FC CSKA fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. USA were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
