If Den Newland had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 15th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. A hard shot 16 in the game by Chris Bowler from a close distance when the talented Jonathan Ferrant managed to make a qualified save. Venezuela's players were relieved. CJ Street struck a weak shot in the 22nd minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Barr Point. Barr Point's Den Newland got a good chance for a goal in the 23rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Jude Bonham didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Tomas Illescas went, in the 29th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jude Bonham. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Jude Bonham made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Illescas in the 32nd minute of play. CJ Street received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 39th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tomas Illescas was the one to do the kick off. 51 minutes into the match, Venezuela's Tomas Illescas sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Jude Bonham narrowly saved just below the crossbar. Tomas Illescas who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 53rdth minute tested the skills of Jude Bonham when he managed to save the team from getting behind. Venezuela's Patricio Costa got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. CJ Street received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 59th minute. Jonathan Ferrant tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Jude Bonham showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute. After having played for 65 minutes, Chris Bowler managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Barr Point's supporters crossed their fingers, but Chris Bowler was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Jude Bonham made an important save on a dangerous shot by Tomas Illescas in the 68th minute. In the 69th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jose Correa to maneuver through the defense. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Jude Bonham. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 81st minute, Tomas Illescas hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. An unexpectedly hard shot by Den Newland in the 88th minute of play forced Venezuela's goalkeeper Jonathan Ferrant to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 89th minute, Jamal Dobson hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Tomas Illescas managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Tomas Illescas was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Jude Bonham breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. When the referee ended the match the Barr Point players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
