Agustin Geleberto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. FC Štitáre's Agustin Geleberto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 6th minute of play. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Matias Urritz in the 7th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Donovan Burris in the 10th minute of play. If Agustín Saelices had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 12th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Agustin Geleberto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Daniel Zorita in the 15th minute of the match. A hard shot 17 in the game by Donovan Burris from a close distance when the talented Julio Vera managed to make a qualified save. Ecuador's players were relieved. Agustin Geleberto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience thought a goal was coming when Donovan Burris got free with Julio Vera in the 20th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 21st minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agustin Geleberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 26 minutes into the match, FC Štitáre's Donovan Burris sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 27th minute of play forced FC Štitáre's goalkeeper Agustin Geleberto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Donovan Burris could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 31st minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. In the 32nd minute Cristian Sancho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Agustin Geleberto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After some fancy dribbling in the 33rd minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Agustin Geleberto breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 36th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After having played for 45 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Devan Eiø in the 51st minute of play. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Donovan Burris, who was totally free with the ball in the 52nd minute. Luis Andino received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 54th minute. Agustin Geleberto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 59th minute, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-2. Rune Aronsson sent away a hard shot on goal in the 61st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. FC Štitáre's Viktor Lalkovič was substituted for Remigiusz Zaremba. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 64th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. In the 65th minute, Devan Eiø left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The FC Štitáre fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. Daniel Zorita sent away a hard shot on goal in the 68th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Cristian Sancho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 72nd minute of the match, but Agustin Geleberto made a huge save. Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Donovan Burris was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-2. Daniel Zorita took the ball and in the 79 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Agustin Geleberto. Agustin Geleberto dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-3. Agustín Saelices hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. The supporters of FC Štitáre booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 84 match minutes in a wonderful position. Camilo Gisbert didn't get a good kick on the ball. 85 minutes into the match, Devan Eiø notched a goal, 3-3, to the right of Ecuador's Julio Vera.
