Daniel Igon showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tomas Illescas, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. 15 minutes into the game, Campeones del Mundo's Fulgencio Ferrer nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Campeones del Mundo's Daniel Igon played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Patricio Costa in the 26th minute of play. In the 27th minute of the match Venezuela got a corner. Campeones del Mundo's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Tomas Illescas ran over to the corner to take the kick. After taking down the ball on Venezuela's corner Tomas Illescas fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Daniel Igon quite easily take care of the ball. After 28 played minutes Campeones del Mundo got a freekick which was hit by Apolo Heriberto. In the 30th minute Guillermo Gorosti shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ladislao Fraco made in the 33rd minute of the game a fairly good throw-in which was taken care of by Gervasio Demario. In the 40th match minute, Venezuela was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rigoberto Mina to maneuver through the defense. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fulgencio Ferrer, who was totally free with the ball in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

Apolo Heriberto hit a great freekick 56 minutes into the match. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Guillermo Gorosti in the 60th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Jonathan Ferrant saved Venezuela from getting behind. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 61st minute. Daniel Igon tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Daniel Igon was a little too slow when Tomas Illescas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 63rd minute. The score was now 2-1. A throw-in in the 69th minute of the game was made by Ladislao Fraco with Lindo Trollo as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Tomas Illescas sent away a hard shot on goal in the 73rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Guillermo Gorosti struck a weak shot in the 75th minute. Jonathan Ferrant didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Campeones del Mundo. Lindo Trollo hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Guillermo Gorosti in the 84th minute of the match. Jonathan Ferrant showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fulgencio Ferrer, who was totally free with the ball in the 87th minute.
