Nestor Cortez showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Eriberto Miranda in the 14th minute of the match. After some careless play in the Lobos de Carelia defense, Eriberto Miranda kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Nestor Cortez. The Lobos de Carelia fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Nestor Cortez should have stopped the shot. Vasco Goycochea took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Pavao Zadro, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Vasco Goycochea made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saul Montrel in the 25th minute of play. In the 27th match minute, Lobos de Carelia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Tomás Laurendi to maneuver through the defense. Eriberto Miranda scored 3-0 in the 31st match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Nestor Cortez, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. After having played for 96 minutes, Enrique Domingues managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal.
