Turgut Soyuer might have been able to make a better finish in the 14th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over León Carbonell. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Turgut Soyuer ran back to his position shaking his head. León Carbonell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Turgut Soyuer, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Liverpool's León Carbonell played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Turgut Soyuer in the 15th minute of play. 17 minutes into the match, Liverpool's goal looked a bit too open when Turgut Soyuer came free, but León Carbonell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After some careless play in the Liverpool defense, Turgut Soyuer kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of León Carbonell. The Liverpool fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that León Carbonell should have stopped the shot. In the 23rd minute PREZULO FC were awarded a corner. Ferhat Sertuğ went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on PREZULO FC's corner Celsinho Perez fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and León Carbonell quite easily take care of the ball. PREZULO FC's Turgut Soyuer got a good chance for a goal in the 28th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Isaac Ferreira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Abuzer Gündoğan in the 35th minute of play. The PREZULO FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. The supporters of Liverpool booed when PREZULO FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rob Lute didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Liverpool's Saturnín Giron got a free kick in the 47th minute. After the first half PREZULO FC were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Hugo Duro stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the match, Liverpool's goalkeeper León Carbonell had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Turgut Soyuer. When the match had gone on for 54 minutes, Turgut Soyuer took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for León Carbonell to make any attempt to save it. Saulão Chettle recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 59th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. PREZULO FC's Mari Balotelli was substituted for Turgut Soyuer. In the 65th minute, Saturnín Giron hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 73rd minute of the match, Betão de Brito got a very nice opportunity to score, but León Carbonell was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. León Carbonell showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Betão de Brito, who was totally free with the ball in the 74th minute. 75 minutes into the match, Liverpool's goal looked a bit too open when Mari Balotelli came free, but León Carbonell reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A well-hit corner resulted in Betão de Brito heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. Liverpool's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal.
