Andrei Oloieru took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abdi Revis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With a little luck, Fotbal Club Vaslui's Andrei Oloieru got control of the ball when Martin Mutumba tried to sneak it across the goal line. After 25 played minutes Vykans Vikingar got a freekick which was hit by Tage Glanselius. A collision led to Vykans Vikingar getting a freekick after 27 minutes play. Tage Glanselius hit a great ball. In the 31st minute Traian Traian shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andreas Lindqvist saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fotbal Club Vaslui's Manole Amărculesei managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Tage Glanselius in the 33 minute of the game. The audience thought a goal was coming when Martin Mutumba got free with Andrei Oloieru in the 37th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Radu Ispas kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-1 lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Martin Mutumba was the one to do the kick off. In the 53rd minute Abdi Revis shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Andrei Oloieru saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Fotbal Club Vaslui's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Abdi Revis was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Bengt-Arne Haglund in the 88th minute of play forced Fotbal Club Vaslui's goalkeeper Andrei Oloieru to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.
