Giray Yeten could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 20th minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. After a rather tough play, Uetendorf Wanderers's Sak de Cock got a free kick in the 21st minute. In the 23rd minute, Mexico's Lorenzo Cazalla seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Lorenzo Cazalla the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Mexico protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Lorenzo Cazalla had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. After 37 minutes of play, Mexico's Facundo Cadaval made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. David Aberle was left in no man's land by his defense there! After the first half Mexico were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Glenn Huez in the 58th minute of play. With a little luck, Uetendorf Wanderers's David Aberle got control of the ball when Facundo Cadaval tried to sneak it across the goal line. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by Uetendorf Wanderers's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Mexico's Joel Gaona to fire away a dangerous shot which David Aberle despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Uetendorf Wanderers's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
