Ecuador's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Richmond Van Glabeeke was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. But to his dismay, Richmond Van Glabeeke quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. Ecuador were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing Puerto de Sagunto CF to leave the ground with a draw.
