With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robustiano Orlin prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Lautaro Puig scored 0-2 in the 12th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Robustiano Orlin, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Lautaro Puig got a throw-in 19 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Aaron Alcocer. It was a well-played corner which Aaron Alcocer managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. 24 minutes into the match, ♛ ͲօէէҽղƒìҽӀժ ⚽️'s goal looked a bit too open when Axel Tasis came free, but Robustiano Orlin reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 played minutes ♛ ͲօէէҽղƒìҽӀժ ⚽️ got a freekick which was hit by Amado Seme. In the 30th minute Lautaro Puig shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Robustiano Orlin saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When Hugo Ferrant fell near the penalty area in the 33rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Costa Rica's protests and gave Hugo Ferrant a yellow card for diving instead. ♛ ͲօէէҽղƒìҽӀժ ⚽️'s Amado Seme managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Juan Rubio in the 36 minute of the game. If Axel Tasis had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 38th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Robustiano Orlin showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Axel Tasis in the 43rd minute of the match. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-3.

If Teobaldo Urtun had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 72nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After a defensive mix-up in ♛ ͲօէէҽղƒìҽӀժ ⚽️'s zone, Lautaro Puig stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Robustiano Orlin came out of the goal and Lautaro Puig tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The throw-in from Eliseo Noboa in the 94th minute of the game was unfortunally taken care of by ♛ ͲօէէҽղƒìҽӀժ ⚽️'s Miguel Brais. When the match was over Costa Rica could go home with a victory in their luggage, having controlled the game far better than ♛ ͲօէէҽղƒìҽӀժ ⚽️ throughout the match.
