Daniel Zorita was slow to take the kick. During this time Ecuador's players had a chance to rest. It was a well-played corner which Luis Andino managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Ludvig Blixt tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 21st minute of play forced Atlético Åkarp United's goalkeeper Ludvig Blixt to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ecuador's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Daniel Zorita in the 22nd minute. Iwan Piatek tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Ludvig Blixt. An unnecessary self made goal, 1-1 in the 23rd minute. Vágner Paes could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 27th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Daniel Zorita to make the kick off.
