Zygmunt Bielejewski made the kick off and thus started the match. STAL ST WOLA's Roman Matai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Witold Bycofski in the 7th minute of play. 12 minutes into the match, U21 Poland's goalkeeper Tanek Wojtyna had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Zygmunt Bielejewski. Roman Matai took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Robertas Lewandowski, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 13 minutes into the match, Robertas Lewandowski notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of STAL ST WOLA's Roman Matai. Roman Matai was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Robertas Lewandowski took the ball and in the 16 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Roman Matai. Roman Matai dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-2. 21 minutes into the game, Robertas Lewandowski cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-3. Roman Matai was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Roman Matai made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zbyszek Wojtyna in the 23rd minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, STAL ST WOLA's goal looked a bit too open when Witold Bycofski came free, but Roman Matai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 27 minutes into the match, STAL ST WOLA's goal looked a bit too open when Zbyszek Wojtyna came free, but Roman Matai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Tanek Wojtyna came out and tried to block the shot, but Michel Batistuta slotted it home off the left post making it 1-3 in the 37th minute. STAL ST WOLA's Roman Matai played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Robertas Lewandowski in the 41st minute of play. In the 42nd minute Witold Bycofski shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Matai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After the first half U21 Poland were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Robertas Lewandowski to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 59th minute Zbyszek Wojtyna shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Roman Matai saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 65th minute the ball was on its way in behind U21 Poland's goalkeeper Tanek Wojtyna, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 67 minutes into the match, STAL ST WOLA's goal looked a bit too open when Robertas Lewandowski came free, but Roman Matai reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Artaç Hendekli during the 69th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 69th minute, Artaç Hendekli hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The supporters of U21 Poland booed when STAL ST WOLA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 70 match minutes in a wonderful position. Artaç Hendekli didn't get a good kick on the ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gustaw Bendyk in the 80th minute of play forced U21 Poland's goalkeeper Tanek Wojtyna to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Witold Bycofski got free with Roman Matai in the 84th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Zygmunt Bielejewski fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 85th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tanek Wojtyna having to interfere. STAL ST WOLA's Patryk Glogowski was substituted for Baltazar de Amaral. After a rather tough play, U21 Poland's Witold Bycofski got a free kick in the 89th minute. Tanek Wojtyna took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mikolaj Lech, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Tanek Wojtyna showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Mikolaj Lech, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. After 92 minutes U21 Poland's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Michel Batistuta who took care of the corner kick. Zdzislaw Kręcina thought of kicking away a contribution in front of goal but messed it up so badly that the ball went to the right of an astonished Tanek Wojtyna, a very annoying self made goal in the 92nd minute which led to 2-3. After a rather tough play, U21 Poland's Zbyszek Wojtyna got a free kick in the 95th minute. In the 97th minute Michel Batistuta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tanek Wojtyna saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
