Henry Kristiansson scored 1-1 in the 20th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Julio Vera, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. Henrik Ingemarsson took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luis Andino, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 23rd minute Luis Andino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Henrik Ingemarsson saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Henry Kristiansson's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Julio Vera firmly grabbed it by the left post. Henrik Ingemarsson made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Felix Montenegro in the 26th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Mathias Björk could shoot a difficult shot in the 27th minute, which Julio Vera however easily saved by the left post. 30 minutes into the match, Catholic Church's Nick Nick sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Julio Vera narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 31st minute of the match Catholic Church got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Kenneth McKinnell ran over to the corner to take the kick. Catholic Church's Kenneth McKinnell was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Julio Vera in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. After some fancy dribbling in the 34th minute, Juan Sebastián Puig managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Juan Sebastián Puig was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Henrik Ingemarsson breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 35 played minutes Catholic Church got a freekick which was hit by Oskar Bergqvist. Henrik Ingemarsson showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 38th minute of the match. A nice corner shot did that Daniel Zorita got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Henrik Ingemarsson quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Henry Kristiansson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 94th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Julio Vera having to interfere. Catholic Church's Henrik Ingemarsson proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 98th minute of the match, managed to save Catholic Church from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
