Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 44th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Ralph Roeles in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Ralph Roeles showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 61st minute of the match. Ralph Roeles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 62nd minute of play. In the 64th minute, Emiliano Caiola hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 66 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Camilo Gisbert. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 68th minute of play forced Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's goalkeeper Ralph Roeles to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Daniel Zorita struck a weak shot in the 76th minute. Ralph Roeles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Ecuador. After having played for 81 minutes, Jakov Cvjetković managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Julias Rascals Apeldoorn's supporters crossed their fingers, but Jakov Cvjetković was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Ralph Roeles made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Luis Andino in the 83rd minute of play. Felix Montenegro might have been able to make a better finish in the 84th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Ralph Roeles. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Felix Montenegro ran back to his position shaking his head. Daniel Zorita came free with the goalkeeper in the 92nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Ralph Roeles could save by the left post. Ecuador's Felix Montenegro got a good chance for a goal in the 95th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar.
