To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind KF Trepça's goalkeeper Ignaz Pisula, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Chile's Thiago Pliego got control of the ball when Márcio Leitão tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 72nd minute Zachary Piczak shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Thiago Pliego saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by László Kovács in the 73rd minute of play forced Chile's goalkeeper Thiago Pliego to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ignaz Pisula made a fantastic save in the 75th minute, when Mariano Lacasa sent off a good shot on target. Jose Manzanedo hit a great freekick 79 minutes into the match. After 91 played minutes, Chile's Mariano Lacasa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Ignaz Pisula came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Chile reached it. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Chile would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
