Enrique Belo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Axel Tasis, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After some fancy dribbling in the 10th minute, Manuel Ourente managed to get in a good position for a shot. Sakura Storm's supporters rose to their feet, but Manuel Ourente was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Benito Sanz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 16th match minute, Sakura Storm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gervasio Zumista to maneuver through the defense. Enrique Belo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eliseo Noboa in the 18th minute of play. In the 22nd minute Eliseo Noboa shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Enrique Belo saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The supporters of Sakura Storm booed when Costa Rica was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 23 match minutes in a wonderful position. Lautaro Puig didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 25th minute of the game, Tadeusz Dziechciowski landed unfortunately after trying to head the ball, and pulled a muscle in the back, so badly that he had to leave the field. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Hugo Ferrant during the 25th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Sakura Storm's Goi Ribas couldn't find anyone to pass the ball to, so he shot a long shot towards the goal in the 27th minute. The shot went wide which resulted in a goal kick for Costa Rica. 30 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goal looked a bit too open when Carl Nicholson came free, but Benito Sanz reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Efrain Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 31st minute of the match. In the 34th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Hugo Ferrant to maneuver through the defense. Carl Nicholson recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 36th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carl Nicholson struck a weak shot in the 40th minute. Benito Sanz didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Sakura Storm. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eliseo Noboa was the one to do the kick off. After 52 minutes, Remigio Ocaña mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Sakura Storm and the Costa Rica players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 52nd match minute, Sakura Storm was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Remigio Ocaña to maneuver through the defense. Benito Sanz came out of the goal in the 58th minute to try and stop a shot by Sakura Storm's Carl Nicholson. But to his dismay, Carl Nicholson quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. A throw-in in the 66th minute of the game was made by Efrain Moruga with Aaron Alcocer as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Efrain Moruga kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. In the 70th minute, Juan Rubio hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 71 minutes into the game, Carl Nicholson cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The supporters of Costa Rica booed when Sakura Storm was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Gervasio Zumista didn't get a good kick on the ball. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carl Nicholson, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute.
