Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Luis Andino sent away a hard shot on goal in the 11th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 13 minutes into the match, Daniel Zorita notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of The Dalwhinnie Boys's Harm Rooy. Harm Rooy was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 15th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. The Dalwhinnie Boys's Harm Rooy played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 22nd minute of play. After taking down the ball on Ecuador's corner Juan Sebastián Puig fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Harm Rooy quite easily take care of the ball. After some careless play in the The Dalwhinnie Boys defense, Daniel Zorita kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Harm Rooy. The The Dalwhinnie Boys fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Harm Rooy should have stopped the shot. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Bruno Zuidema tried to sneak it across the goal line. Julio Vera took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Mirko Blank, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 36th minute of the match The Dalwhinnie Boys got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Bjorn Kuijpers ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led The Dalwhinnie Boys's Bjorn Kuijpers to fire away a dangerous shot which Julio Vera despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 40th minute, Cristian Sancho managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Cristian Sancho was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Harm Rooy breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Bruno Zuidema recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 42nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Daniel Zorita's late challenge caught a The Dalwhinnie Boys's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Daniel Zorita helped the player get up and apologised. A collision led to Ecuador getting a freekick after 45 minutes play. Daniel Zorita hit a great ball. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The corner ended in Bjorn Kuijpers almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Ecuador's Julio Vera did a great save. In the 57th minute, Daniel Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-3. Thanks to some nice moves Daniel Zorita could shoot a difficult shot in the 63rd minute, which Harm Rooy however easily saved by the left post. Ecuador were awarded a corner in the 64th minute after The Dalwhinnie Boys's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Daniel Zorita took the corner. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Harm Rooy in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The Dalwhinnie Boys's supporters rose to their feet, but Ger Mols was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The Dalwhinnie Boys's Harm Rooy proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 76th minute of the match, managed to save The Dalwhinnie Boys from getting a goal against them. After 77 minutes of play, Ecuador's Cristian Sancho made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net.
