Sabin Pânzaru made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Monty Rogers in the 18th minute of play. 25 minutes into the match, FC Aquile Azzurre's goal looked a bit too open when Cassius Byrne came free, but Sabin Pânzaru reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. A sloppy throw-in by Jacob May in the 28th minute of the game went astray and was snapped up by FC Aquile Azzurre's Osvaldinho Queirós. Carlo Borgatello in the 31stth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Marco Day, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Sabin Pânzaru showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cassius Byrne in the 34th minute of the match. Sabin Pânzaru stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cassius Byrne's shot from short distance in the 41st minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Federico Bianco got free with Marco Day in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. An unexpectedly hard shot by Carlo Borgatello in the 47th minute of play forced USA's goalkeeper Marco Day to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

After a rather tough play, USA's Diego Bradley got a free kick in the 72nd minute. After some careless play in the USA defense, Dinç Dede kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Marco Day. The USA fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Marco Day should have stopped the shot. FC Aquile Azzurre's Sabin Pânzaru proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 81st minute of the match, managed to save FC Aquile Azzurre from getting a goal against them. USA made a substitution. Khalid Parry replaced Monty Rogers. USA made a substitution. Marco Baker replaced Edward Mcdonald. FC Aquile Azzurre's Alfons Bagge managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Jenson Smith in the 85 minute of the game. Marco Day stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Dinç Dede's shot from short distance in the 86th minute. FC Aquile Azzurre's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Alfons Bagge in the 87th minute. In the 87th minute, Elia Pasin hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marco Day took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Federico Bianco, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. USA were unable to convert their possession into goals, allowing FC Aquile Azzurre to leave the ground with a draw.
