Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Karl-Magnus Harlén in the 37th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Federico Fe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. 46 minutes into the match, Trapiche's goal looked a bit too open when Nunez Gabino came free, but Federico Fe reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

Andreas Fransson showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tadeo Abajas, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. In the 93rd minute of the match, Hugo Itzaina got a very nice opportunity to score, but Andreas Fransson was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. The Trapiche supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Trapiche would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
