Zheng Chao made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergiu Coșeriu in the 9th minute of play. Academia Rio's Aurelian Coporan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anders Westerstrand in the 11th minute of play. The corner ended in Fabian Spânu almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Academia Rio's Aurelian Coporan did a great save. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Academia Rio's goalkeeper Aurelian Coporan, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Aurelian Coporan made a fantastic save in the 16th minute, when Adriano Ribeiro sent off a good shot on target. Zheng Chao took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Virgil Şimonca, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Nelson Wright fell near the penalty area in the 22nd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored The Obscurials's protests and gave Nelson Wright a yellow card for diving instead. In the 28th minute, Radu Păvăloae ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Zheng Chao was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-1. Valeriu Ilinca got a throw-in 33 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Dumitru Pantelimon. Aurelian Coporan was a little too slow when Adriano Ribeiro got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 1-1. Zheng Chao made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergiu Coșeriu in the 37th minute of play. Adriano Ribeiro could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 41st minute of the match, but Aurelian Coporan made a huge save. The The Obscurials fans' excitement grew in the 45th match minute when The Obscurials's Anders Westerstrand looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 2-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Anders Westerstrand was the one to do the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Adriano Ribeiro in the 52nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Aurelian Coporan saved Academia Rio from getting behind. After 52 minutes, Adriano Ribeiro made it 3-1 with a short kick to the right side. Academia Rio's Aurelian Coporan tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 56th minute, Adriano Ribeiro got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Adriano Ribeiro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Aurelian Coporan read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 57th minute of play. 59 minutes into the match, The Obscurials's goalkeeper Zheng Chao had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Virgil Şimonca. Adriano Ribeiro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Aurelian Coporan having to interfere. 62 minutes into the match, The Obscurials's Adriano Ribeiro sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Aurelian Coporan narrowly saved just below the crossbar. In the 63rd minute The Obscurials were awarded a corner. Fabian Spânu went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on The Obscurials's corner Fabian Spânu fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Aurelian Coporan quite easily take care of the ball. Fabian Spânu's long shot made the audience stand up and applaude when it rumbled by Aurelian Coporan on his right side and into the goal. 63 minutes into the game it was 4-1. The crowd rose to their feet as Virgil Şimonca kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zheng Chao. That made the score 4-2 in the 71 minute of play. Academia Rio's Aurelian Coporan played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Lawrance Grandison in the 77th minute of play.
