The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. 5 minutes into the game, Hassan Barth threw the ball into play from the sideline. Vancouver Reds's Omar Duardo proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 6th minute of the match, managed to save Vancouver Reds from getting a goal against them. 6 minutes into the game, Adriano Ribeiro recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Omar Duardo. Adriano Ribeiro showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 1-0. In the 11th minute, Nicolás Castillo hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 18th minute, Adriano Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. The Obscurials's supporters rose to their feet, but Adriano Ribeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Omar Duardo breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 30 minutes had been played when some careless play by Vancouver Reds's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Fabian Spânu was slow to take the kick. During this time The Obscurials's players had a chance to rest. An unexpectedly hard shot by Anders Westerstrand in the 33rd minute of play forced Vancouver Reds's goalkeeper Omar Duardo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Zheng Chao made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sima Marinković in the 55th minute of play. In the 57th minute Nicolás Castillo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Zheng Chao saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Omar Duardo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Adriano Ribeiro, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Sima Marinković could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 60th minute of the match, but Zheng Chao made a huge save. When Adriano Ribeiro came up free with the goalie in the 65th minute, the The Obscurials fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Adriano Ribeiro couldn't finish the play. The Obscurials made a substitution. Angelo Eiró replaced Cliff Rowden. In the 74th minute, Pang Jun hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Lawrance Grandison's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Omar Duardo was relentless in the 84th minute of the game.
