Bayhan Kutay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Alfonso de la Cruz in the 18th minute of play. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Julio Chicote in the 22nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bayhan Kutay prevented the ball from getting in the gole. A collision led to Samsunspor getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Mecnun Başer hit a great ball. Atabey Tükel kicked well hit freekick during the 27th minute of the match. Alfredo Ferrant sent away a hard shot on goal in the 28th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Bayhan Kutay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alfonso de la Cruz in the 34th minute of the match. 35 minutes into the match, Eduardo Fontirroig had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Bayhan Kutay. Samsunspor's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eduardo Fontirroig was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Bolivia's Eduardo Fontirroig suffered a sore thigh after 41 minutes and couldn't finish the game. Atabey Tükel got his second yellow card in the match during the 41st minute which meant that he had to leave the ground. Bolivia made a substitution. Fernando Navarro replaced Eduardo Fontirroig. The supporters of Bolivia booed when Samsunspor was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Atabey Tükel didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 45th minute Mario Fernandino shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bayhan Kutay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mario Fernandino made a kick off. When Alfonso de la Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 55th minute, the Bolivia fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Alfonso de la Cruz couldn't finish the play. Bayhan Kutay made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Julio Chicote in the 56th minute of play. Camilo Freixa came out of the goal in the 57th minute to try and stop a shot by Samsunspor's Recep Tayyip Değirmencioğlu. But to his dismay, Recep Tayyip Değirmencioğlu quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-2. With a little luck, Samsunspor's Bayhan Kutay got control of the ball when Mario Fernandino tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 62nd minute Fernando Navarro shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bayhan Kutay saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 64th minute, Bolivia's Fernando Navarro dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 1-3. When the match had gone on for 68 minutes, Fernando Navarro took a quick shot and it went in 1-4 without a chance for Bayhan Kutay to make any attempt to save it. Bayhan Kutay didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Mario Fernandino went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 1-5 was the resulting score. Bayhan Kutay showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Julio Chicote in the 78th minute of the match. With his leg Bayhan Kutay managed to avoid a goal in the 80thth minute, when Bolivia's Fernando Navarro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After a defensive mix-up in Samsunspor's zone, Fernando Navarro stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bayhan Kutay came out of the goal and Fernando Navarro tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bolivia's Julio Chicote got a good chance for a goal in the 90th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Kandemir Uluhan hit a great freekick 91 minutes into the match. If Alfredo Ferrant had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 93rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Bolivia's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
