Alan Moruga hit a great ball. 4 minutes into the match, Liu Yuan Cheng notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Costa Rica's Benito Sanz. Benito Sanz was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. If Stephan Blanco had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Costa Rica's Benito Sanz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 12th minute of the match, managed to save Costa Rica from getting a goal against them. Emanuel Avellino scored 2-0 in the 14th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Benito Sanz, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. 19 minutes into the match, Costa Rica's goalkeeper Benito Sanz had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Liu Yuan Cheng. Abel Carballo hit a great freekick 21 minutes into the match. The long shot by Stephan Blanco in the 23rd minute really tested Benito Sanz's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. Axel Tasis charged in rather forcefully in the 26th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Axel Tasis the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 26th match minute, Costa Rica was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Axel Tasis to maneuver through the defense. The audience thought a goal was coming when Emanuel Avellino got free with Benito Sanz in the 31st minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 32nd minute, Axel Tasis got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. A hard shot 36 in the game by Emanuel Avellino from a close distance when the talented Benito Sanz managed to make a qualified save. Costa Rica's players were relieved. The audience thought a goal was coming when Liu Yuan Cheng got free with Benito Sanz in the 44th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The wind increased when Emanuel Avellino made the kick off in the second half. If Fredrik Hylander had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 51st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After having played for 64 minutes, Nigel Petroni managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Victoria's supporters crossed their fingers, but Nigel Petroni was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. In the 66th minute, Emanuel Avellino made a precise shot to the right of Benito Sanz. Costa Rica's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 4-0. Axel Tasis hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Eliseo Noboa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 72nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tommy Cauchi having to interfere. Stephan Blanco might have been able to make a better finish in the 73rd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Benito Sanz. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Stephan Blanco ran back to his position shaking his head. Emanuel Avellino fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 74th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Benito Sanz having to interfere. Benito Sanz made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Emanuel Avellino in the 75th minute of play. After 77 played minutes Costa Rica got a freekick which was hit by Axel Tasis. 6-0 became the score in the 84th minute when Fredrik Hylander elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. Victoria's Liu Yuan Cheng got a good chance for a goal in the 87th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Benito Sanz showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Emanuel Avellino, who was totally free with the ball in the 89th minute. 91 minutes into the game, Liu Yuan Cheng cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Benito Sanz was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. When the referee ended the match the Victoria players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
