In the 23rd match minute, Lunar Park was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luisito Hernando to maneuver through the defense. In the 26th minute, Fabien Canu got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 29 played minutes Honduras got a freekick which was hit by Ivan Navarro. 32 minutes into the game, Fabien Canu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Lautaro Navarro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fabien Canu received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Lautaro Navarro came out and tried to block the shot, but Fabien Canu slotted it home off the left post making it 3-0 in the 45th minute. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Fabien Canu stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Lautaro Navarro showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Fabien Canu in the 56th minute of the match. When the match clock showed 64 minutes, the score became 5-0 when Fabien Canu sped through Honduras's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Lautaro Navarro. In the 67th minute, Fabien Canu left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Lunar Park fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 6-0. 71 minutes into the game, Fabien Canu cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 7-0. Lautaro Navarro was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Ramiro Nastasio hit a great freekick 75 minutes into the match. After having played for 77 minutes, Fabien Canu managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Lunar Park's supporters crossed their fingers, but Fabien Canu was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Fabien Canu's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Lautaro Navarro read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 79th minute of play. Lunar Park were awarded a corner in the 81th minute after Honduras's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Carlos Taillade took the corner. The corner led Lunar Park's Carlos Taillade to fire away a dangerous shot which Lautaro Navarro despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. After a rather tough play, Honduras's Valentín Carvallo got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Lunar Park's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
