The wind increased when Jaime Pardo made the kick off in the second half. After a defensive mix-up in Paraguay's zone, Ali Faruk Bayındır stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. In the 57thth minute of the game Ali Faruk Bayındır who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Paraguay's Jacobo Nores was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Panos Kallitzakis kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Jaime Pardo managed to get in a good position for a shot. Paraguay's supporters rose to their feet, but Jaime Pardo was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Tolis Mantouvalos breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 61 minutes, Raul Venegas mouthed his way into the referee's book. Jacobo Nores showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ali Faruk Bayındır in the 84th minute of the match. Jacobo Nores stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gerasimos Kalonis's shot from short distance in the 87th minute. If Jaime Pardo had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 88th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Paraguay's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
