Donato Souza showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo, who was totally free with the ball in the 24th minute. 25 minutes had been played when some careless play by Renascer's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Joel Gaona was slow to take the kick. During this time Mexico's players had a chance to rest. After taking down the ball on Mexico's corner Luca Rouco fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Donato Souza quite easily take care of the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gong Yi Feng got free with Dante Lacasa in the 28th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dante Lacasa made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gong Yi Feng in the 30th minute. In the 32nd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Zorita to maneuver through the defense. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 38th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jano Marinho's shot when he came free in front of the goal in the 41stth minute, Dante Lacasa skillfully showed off with a save to what seemed to be an obvious goal. In the 44th minute Alberto Tafalla shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Donato Souza saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.
When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Joel Gaona made a kick off. The supporters of Renascer booed when Mexico was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 51 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luca Zorita didn't get a good kick on the ball. 56 minutes into the game, Luca Zorita recieved a splendid long ball, split the defenders, and gently placed the ball to the left of Donato Souza. Luca Zorita showed that you don't have to tear a hole in the net to score, 0-1. Lorenzo Cazalla's late challenge caught a Renascer's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Lorenzo Cazalla helped the player get up and apologised. After 59 played minutes Mexico got a freekick which was hit by Lorenzo Cazalla. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Edmundo Carvalho in the 60th minute of the match. Renascer's Donato Souza proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 62nd minute of the match, managed to save Renascer from getting a goal against them. In the 64th match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Luca Rouco to maneuver through the defense. In the 64th minute Luisão Favoretto shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Horácio Maciel in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Dante Lacasa prevented the ball from getting in the gole. When the match clock showed 69 minutes, the score became 1-1 when Horácio Maciel sped through Mexico's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Dante Lacasa. In the 72nd match minute, Mexico was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Joel Gaona to maneuver through the defense. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edmundo Carvalho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Joel Gaona fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 82nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Donato Souza having to interfere. 87 minutes into the match, Joel Gaona notched a goal, 1-2, to the right of Renascer's Donato Souza. Donato Souza was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Donato Souza took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alberto Tafalla, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 95th minute, Gong Yi Feng ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Dante Lacasa was frozen by the shot and now it was 2-2. Despite being the better team, Mexico failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
