Dante Lacasa came out of the goal in the 5th minute to try and stop a shot by SSV Ulm 1846's Don Merlot. But to his dismay, Don Merlot quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. In the 9th minute, Luca Zorita hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After some fancy dribbling in the 11th minute, Don Merlot managed to get in a good position for a shot. SSV Ulm 1846's supporters rose to their feet, but Don Merlot was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Dante Lacasa breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After a defensive mix-up in Mexico's zone, Niclas Monschke stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dante Lacasa came out of the goal and Niclas Monschke tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Kryspin Cupial took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niclas Monschke in the 24th minute of play. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Lautaro Mancebo in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Kryspin Cupial prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Kryspin Cupial made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 38th minute of play. In the 39th minute of the match Mexico got a corner. SSV Ulm 1846's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Joel Gaona ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner led Mexico's Leonardo Leoz to fire away a dangerous shot which Kryspin Cupial despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Dante Lacasa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Don Merlot, who was totally free with the ball in the 42nd minute. Don Merlot fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 44th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dante Lacasa having to interfere. Albrecht Bosbach kicked well hit freekick during the 45th minute of the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

In the 54th minute, Luca Zorita left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Mexico fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-1. After 58 minutes of play, SSV Ulm 1846's Don Merlot made it 2-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dante Lacasa was left in no man's land by his defense there! Don Merlot scored 3-1 in the 62nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dante Lacasa, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 66th minute Don Merlot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Albrecht Bosbach's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dante Lacasa read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 71st minute of play. Kryspin Cupial showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Joel Gaona in the 74th minute of the match. Kryspin Cupial took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 77th minute Don Merlot shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 79th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Kryspin Cupial having to interfere. If Niclas Monschke had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 84th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Kryspin Cupial made an important save on a dangerous shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 86th minute. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 88th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Dante Lacasa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Don Merlot in the 97th minute of play. The SSV Ulm 1846 support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
