With an extended leg and a bit of luck Julio Vera prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 16 minutes BEIJO CARNAVAL's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Godfredo Abarca having to interfere. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Adam Jönsson in the 21st minute of the match. In the 22nd minute of the match BEIJO CARNAVAL got a corner. Ecuador's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Aristides Lehior ran over to the corner to take the kick. The supporters of Ecuador booed when BEIJO CARNAVAL was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alonzo Lazcano didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 26th minute Daniel Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Godfredo Abarca saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. If Cristian Sancho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 27th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Godfredo Abarca made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Daniel Zorita in the 46th minute of play. After the first half Ecuador were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Adam Jönsson to make the kick off. The audience was convinced that Alonzo Lazcano's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 52nd minute of the game. But to his dismay, Alonzo Lazcano quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-1. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Saverio Belasko in the 79th minute of play. Julio Vera didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Saverio Belasko went, in the 81st minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rigoberto Olayo in the 84th minute of the match. Godfredo Abarca made a fantastic save in the 86th minute, when Daniel Zorita sent off a good shot on target. With a little luck, BEIJO CARNAVAL's Godfredo Abarca got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 93rd minute the ball was on its way in behind BEIJO CARNAVAL's goalkeeper Godfredo Abarca, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. BEIJO CARNAVAL's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
