If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 7th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. With an all-out effort, FC Jena-Nord 02's Jonathan Ferrant threw himself towards the right post 10 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Rashko Dodov, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 11th minute of the match FC Jena-Nord 02 got a corner. Venezuela's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gordian Ottmar ran over to the corner to take the kick. 13 minutes into the game, Paul Jöckel cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-0. Jonathan Ferrant was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. 18 minutes into the match, Jose Correa had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eric McThomas. FC Jena-Nord 02's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Jose Correa was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. Patricio Costa received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 23rd minute. Eric McThomas tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Froilan Furtado's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Jonathan Ferrant firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 27th minute Rashko Dodov shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Ferrant made an important save on a dangerous shot by Leroy Rösch in the 30th minute. In the 31st minute, Patricio Costa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 33 minutes into the match, Samuel Dölle notched a goal, 2-1, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 35th minute, Rigoberto Mina hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The audience was convinced that Tomas Illescas's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Eric McThomas was relentless in the 39th minute of the game. In the 39thth minute of the game Tomas Illescas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but FC Jena-Nord 02's Eric McThomas was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Jonathan Ferrant was out of position in the 47 minute of play, and Gordian Ottmar capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gordian Ottmar really showed his touch with that goal: 3-1.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Paul Jöckel stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 52nd minute Samuel Dölle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Rashko Dodov recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 53rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Jose Correa during the 59th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 62nd minute Samuel Dölle shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jonathan Venegas's late challenge caught a FC Jena-Nord 02's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Jonathan Venegas helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of FC Jena-Nord 02 booed when Venezuela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jonathan Venegas didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Joshua Secada got a free kick in the 65th minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tomas Illescas got free with Eric McThomas in the 68th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. A collision led to Venezuela getting a freekick after 69 minutes play. Jose Correa hit a great ball. When the match clock showed 81 minutes, the score became 4-1 when Samuel Dölle sped through Venezuela's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. 87 minutes into the match, Paul Jöckel had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Jonathan Ferrant. Venezuela's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Paul Jöckel was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 5-1. Tomas Illescas blasted a shot towards the goal in the 91st minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Eric McThomas having to make a save. After some fancy dribbling in the 92nd minute, Patricio Costa managed to get in a good position for a shot. Venezuela's supporters rose to their feet, but Patricio Costa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Eric McThomas breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. In the 94th minute, Jose Correa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. There were very few away supporters still in the ground by the end of the match. Most of them had left early, disgusted by the way their team had been torn apart. FC Jena-Nord 02 fully deserved thier win.
