Comunardo Marsili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Daniel Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Beppe Faiella was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 7th minute. Atletico Kankero's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. Antonio Arias's late challenge caught a Atletico Kankero's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Antonio Arias helped the player get up and apologised. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 9th minute of the game. One of Ecuador:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Atletico Kankero:s goal. In the 11th minute, Alessandro Massa ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Julio Vera was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-0. Comunardo Marsili showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Cristian Sancho in the 13th minute of the match. In the 23rd minute, Daniel Zorita made a precise shot to the right of Comunardo Marsili. Atletico Kankero's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-1. 29 minutes into the match, Atletico Kankero's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Comunardo Marsili reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The excitement rose when Ecuador's Daniel Zorita after 33 played minutes turned away three defenders near the goal, and after that shot a ball that was too difficult for Atletico Kankero's goalkeeper to hold. Score! 1-2. When Daniel Zorita came up free with the goalie in the 35th minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Daniel Zorita couldn't finish the play. 39 minutes into the game, Daniel Zorita cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 1-3. Comunardo Marsili was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Beppe Faiella in the 43rd minute of play. Amos Urbani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 45th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After the first half Ecuador were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Amos Urbani to make the kick off. If Amos Urbani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 52nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Comunardo Marsili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 58th minute of play. Atletico Kankero's Ernesto Ferri got a good chance for a goal in the 61st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 65 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Amos Urbani came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 65 minutes of play, Atletico Kankero's Amos Urbani made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Julio Vera was left in no man's land by his defense there! Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 68th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Comunardo Marsili having to interfere. 72 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Amos Urbani came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, Atletico Kankero's Comunardo Marsili got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. 81 minutes into the match, Atletico Kankero's goalkeeper Comunardo Marsili had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 86th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Comunardo Marsili having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Atletico Kankero's Fedele Pedroni got a free kick in the 88th minute. Luis Andino kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. In the 92nd match minute, Atletico Kankero was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Franco Carrea to maneuver through the defense. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
