Mateo Leguizamo was slow to take the kick. During this time El Salvador's players had a chance to rest. After 21 played minutes El Salvador got a freekick which was hit by Joshua Curbelo. Bianco Attili could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Ricardo Zorita made a huge save. Bernardo Orsini took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Abram Luque, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Alex Abbagnale fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 29th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Ricardo Zorita having to interfere. In the 30th minute, Beppe Longo fired away a killer shot towards the goal that, to the delight of Ricardo Zorita, passed just outside the right post. Bernardo Orsini made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Moises Fernandino in the 32nd minute of play. After 40 played minutes Beppe Longo rounded El Salvador's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. Ricardo Zorita took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Alex Abbagnale, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Abram Luque sent away a hard shot on goal in the 45th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance.

When the match had gone on for 55 minutes, Abram Luque took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for Bernardo Orsini to make any attempt to save it. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Beppe Longo in the 58th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ricardo Zorita prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Ricardo Zorita didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Francesco Marrone went, in the 59th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-3 was the resulting score. In the 63rd minute, El Salvador's Abram Luque ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Bernardo Orsini. Bernardo Orsini yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 2-4. In the 66th minute Abram Luque shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Bernardo Orsini saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Mateo Leguizamo during the 68th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. The supporters of LUPI booed when El Salvador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 68 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mateo Leguizamo didn't get a good kick on the ball. Bianco Attili recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 70th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Moises Fernandino who was well placed in front of the goal fired away a dangerous shot that in the 78thth minute tested the skills of Bernardo Orsini when he managed to save the team from getting behind. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alex Abbagnale in the 86th minute of play forced El Salvador's goalkeeper Ricardo Zorita to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The El Salvador supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing El Salvador would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
