In the 7thth minute of the game Lautaro Martines who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Ecuador's Julio Vera was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Antonio Arias hit a great freekick 9 minutes into the match. Marcus Blomqvist's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Julio Vera read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 10th minute of play. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Mala Vakte tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. 18 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-1. Mala Vakte was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Daniel Zorita had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 20th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 24 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Jonathan Rolandsson. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 1-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Lautaro Martiness short, quick shot in the 47thth minute got Julio Vera to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. Lázaro Amaro hit a great freekick 47 minutes into the match.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. 52 minutes into the game, Lázaro Amaro was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Cohaerentia F.C.'s manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. In the 52nd match minute, Cohaerentia F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lázaro Amaro to maneuver through the defense. After 53 minutes, Nistor Mergea mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Cohaerentia F.C. and the Ecuador players grew even worse after the yellow card. Agustín Saelices kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Lázaro Amaro, 67 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. When Primitivo Andino fell near the penalty area in the 73rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Ecuador's protests and gave Primitivo Andino a yellow card for diving instead. After 74 played minutes Ecuador got a freekick which was hit by Primitivo Andino. Ecuador's Daniel Zorita got a good chance for a goal in the 80th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Felix Montes hit a great freekick 82 minutes into the match. In the 85th match minute, Cohaerentia F.C. was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Lautaro Martines to maneuver through the defense. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lázaro Amaro in the 94th minute of the match.
