Spectators: 40 (Terracing: 31, Seating: 9, VIP seats: 0) Durvalino Soeiro started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Durvalino Soeiro in the 5th minute of play. Cristian Sancho recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 7th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Felix Montenegro sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cauã Domingues took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. SANTOS F.C's Cauã Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Sancho in the 15th minute of play. Gustavo Vinhas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Julio Vera was a little too slow when Gustavo Vinhas got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 22nd minute. The score was now 1-0. SANTOS F.C's Cauã Domingues played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agustín Saelices in the 26th minute of play. Cauã Domingues showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Felix Montenegro in the 31st minute of the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo Vinhas got free with Julio Vera in the 34th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. The supporters of Ecuador booed when SANTOS F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Maranhense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera made an important save on a dangerous shot by Abel Neto in the 43rd minute. The audience thought a goal was coming when Gustavo Vinhas got free with Julio Vera in the 46th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 47th minute of the match Betão Torres sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Julio Vera skillfully saved the ball. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Daniel Zorita to strike the kick off in the second half. SANTOS F.C's Cauã Domingues proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 51st minute of the match, managed to save SANTOS F.C from getting a goal against them. 53 minutes into the match, SANTOS F.C's goalkeeper Cauã Domingues had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Cristian Sancho. With a little luck, SANTOS F.C's Cauã Domingues got control of the ball when Daniel Zorita tried to sneak it across the goal line. Daniel Zorita received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 58th minute. Cauã Domingues tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 61 minutes into the game, Marcelo Proença was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. SANTOS F.C's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Ecuador the free kick. A collision led to SANTOS F.C getting a freekick after 62 minutes play. Marcelo Proença hit a great ball. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cristian Sancho in the 63rd minute of play forced SANTOS F.C's goalkeeper Cauã Domingues to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dalmo Cerezo kicked well hit freekick during the 64th minute of the match. 65 minutes into the match, Cristian Sancho had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Cauã Domingues. SANTOS F.C's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Cristian Sancho was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. The supporters of SANTOS F.C booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 67 match minutes in a wonderful position. Agustín Saelices didn't get a good kick on the ball. Julio Vera came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by SANTOS F.C's Durvalino Soeiro. But to his dismay, Durvalino Soeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-1. When Cristian Sancho came up free with the goalie in the 71st minute, the Ecuador fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cristian Sancho couldn't finish the play. Dalmo Cerezo's late challenge caught a Ecuador's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dalmo Cerezo helped the player get up and apologised. Cauã Domingues made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Cristian Sancho in the 75th minute of play. 82 minutes had been played when some careless play by Ecuador's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Betão Torres was slow to take the kick. During this time SANTOS F.C's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when Daniel Zorita got free with Cauã Domingues in the 87th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Camilo Gisbert kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. Ecuador's supporters were dissatisfied at the end of the match because SANTOS F.C had won, even though Ecuador had held more of the ball.
