After 12 played minutes Dimitri De Rijck rounded Ecuador's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. 18 minutes into the match, PS Gurame Bakar's goal looked a bit too open when Cristian Sancho came free, but Fiz Artealde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dimitri De Rijck blasted a shot towards the goal in the 20th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Julio Vera having to make a save. Ecuador's Julio Vera proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 20th minute of the match, managed to save Ecuador from getting a goal against them. Bror Falkrantz charged in rather forcefully in the 23rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Bror Falkrantz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 27th minute, Bror Falkrantz hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 28 minutes into the match, PS Gurame Bakar's goal looked a bit too open when Daniel Zorita came free, but Fiz Artealde reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After 29 minutes PS Gurame Bakar's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Daniel Zorita who took care of the corner kick. Felix Montenegro fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Fiz Artealde having to interfere. Dimitri De Rijck recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 34th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitri De Rijck, who was totally free with the ball in the 34th minute. In the 36th minute, Jan Kemper hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 46 minutes, Dimitri De Rijck made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. Ecuador's Julio Vera tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Felix Montes hit a great freekick 52 minutes into the match. The audience thought a goal was coming when Felix Montenegro got free with Fiz Artealde in the 59th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Dimitri De Rijck sent away a hard shot on goal in the 60th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Julio Vera showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dimitri De Rijck, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Felix Montenegro's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Fiz Artealde read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 61st minute of play. 66 minutes into the game, Cristian Sancho cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-1. Fiz Artealde was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dimitri De Rijck in the 76th minute of the match. The audience was convinced that Dimitri De Rijck's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 80th minute of the game. Dimitri De Rijck might have been able to make a better finish in the 85th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Julio Vera. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Dimitri De Rijck ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Dimitri De Rijck in the 85th minute of play forced Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 92 minutes into the game, Ecuador's Daniel Zorita nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot.
