The corner led Venezuela's Jonathan Venegas to fire away a dangerous shot which Máximo Azeredo despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Alex Chicote during the 90th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. In the 91st minute, Alex Chicote hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Gez Eyre had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Tomas Illescas fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 97th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Máximo Azeredo having to interfere. White Eagles FC were clearly unhappy with the draw, as they felt they had done enough to earn themselves a victory.
