Spectators: 44 (Terracing: 34, Seating: 10, VIP seats: 0) Marin Ciprian started the match with the kick off in front of an excited audience. When the match clock showed 4 minutes, the score became 0-1 when Daniel Zorita sped through Alianza FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Orkatz Remolino. The Ecuador fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 1-2. After a defensive mix-up in Ecuador's zone, Marin Ciprian stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Julio Vera came out of the goal and Marin Ciprian tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Alianza FC were awarded a corner in the 27th minute after Ecuador's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Anselmo Greña took the corner. Marin Ciprian could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 28th minute of the match, but Julio Vera made a huge save. Orkatz Remolino showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luis Andino in the 30th minute of the match. Daniel Zorita made a great header on Ecuador's corner, it was just that Alianza FC's Orkatz Remolino managed to reach the ball for a save. Yiyo Cianca received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 32nd minute. Julio Vera tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Orkatz Remolino stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Cristian Sancho's shot from short distance in the 34th minute. When Marin Ciprian came up free with the goalie in the 52nd minute, the Alianza FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marin Ciprian couldn't finish the play. Felix Montenegro charged in rather forcefully in the 72nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. Despite being the better team, Ecuador failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
