But to his dismay, Cristian Sancho quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 31st minute the ball was on its way in behind Ecuador's goalkeeper Julio Vera, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. With a little luck, Ecuador's Julio Vera got control of the ball when Henk Van Linthout tried to sneak it across the goal line. 35 minutes into the match, Ecuador's goal looked a bit too open when Thomas Sundberg came free, but Julio Vera reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 36th minute the ball was on its way in behind BK Ugglan's goalkeeper Patrik Fagrell, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. After a very even first half the match was still tied. The players went to their respective dressing rooms to discuss the tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Thomas Sundberg stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Patrik Fagrell took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. The audience was convinced that Thomas Sundberg's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Julio Vera was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. Ecuador's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. BK Ugglan's Patrik Fagrell proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 70th minute of the match, managed to save BK Ugglan from getting a goal against them. Patrik Fagrell made a fantastic save in the 72nd minute, when Juan Sebastián Puig sent off a good shot on target. After 74 minutes of play BK Ugglan's Adam Christoffersson was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. After 75 played minutes BK Ugglan got a freekick which was hit by Adam Christoffersson. Daniel Zorita kicked well hit freekick during the 77th minute of the match. BK Ugglan made a substitution. Wiktor Anselius replaced Henk Van Linthout. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luis Andino in the 80th minute of play forced BK Ugglan's goalkeeper Patrik Fagrell to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. BK Ugglan's Jim Kråk got a good chance for a goal in the 84th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Ecuador booed when BK Ugglan was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jim Kråk didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 96th minute BK Ugglan were awarded a corner. Wiktor Anselius went to the cornerflag to take it. Wiktor Anselius made a great header on BK Ugglan's corner, it was just that Ecuador's Julio Vera managed to reach the ball for a save.
