Dante Lacasa was out of position in the 4 minute of play, and Lazarus Kurmann capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Lazarus Kurmann really showed his touch with that goal: 1-0. 7 minutes into the match, Lautaro Mancebo had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Manuel Lajoie. FC Werdenberg's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Lautaro Mancebo was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. 10 minutes into the match, FC Werdenberg's goal looked a bit too open when Alberto Tafalla came free, but Manuel Lajoie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Manuel Lajoie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 16th minute of play. Lautaro Mancebo sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Gökmen Uzkan could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 22nd minute of the match, but Dante Lacasa made a huge save. Mexico's Joel Gaona got a good chance for a goal in the 24th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 31st match minute, FC Werdenberg was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Diego Miranda to maneuver through the defense. Manuel Lajoie took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Lautaro Mancebo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dante Lacasa showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Tudor Caragea in the 37th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Alberto Tafalla in the 39th minute of play forced FC Werdenberg's goalkeeper Manuel Lajoie to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Manuel Lajoie showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 41st minute of the match. Manuel Lajoie made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 46th minute of play. 47 minutes into the match, Mexico's goal looked a bit too open when Evgeniy Babich came free, but Dante Lacasa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The FC Werdenberg players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. Mexico were winning 1-2.

The audience thought a goal was coming when Lautaro Mancebo got free with Manuel Lajoie in the 50th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Alberto Tafalla in the 54th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Manuel Lajoie saved FC Werdenberg from getting behind. 60 minutes into the game, one of Mexico:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. The referee gave FC Werdenberg a penalty, 62 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Simon Gunnarsson, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Mexico's Dante Lacasa. 2-2. With a little luck, FC Werdenberg's Manuel Lajoie got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Tudor Caragea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 66th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. When the match had gone on for 71 minutes, Alberto Tafalla took a quick shot and it went in 2-3 without a chance for Manuel Lajoie to make any attempt to save it. In the 76th minute Luca Zorita shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manuel Lajoie saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Lautaro Mancebo put it in 2-4 from a short distance just to the right of Manuel Lajoie. 87 minutes into the match, FC Werdenberg's goalkeeper Manuel Lajoie had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Lautaro Mancebo. Gökmen Uzkan sent away a hard shot on goal in the 91st minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. 94 minutes into the match, FC Werdenberg's goal looked a bit too open when Joel Gaona came free, but Manuel Lajoie reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. If Alberto Tafalla had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 97th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Mexico's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
