With an extended leg and a bit of luck 谢广川 prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After having played for 45 minutes, Felix Montenegro managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Felix Montenegro was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The referee felt a red card was in order, 47 minutes into the game, when 柯钢洲 put in a rough tackle. In a very dangerous position, a player in ≮王者归来≯匪匪占山为王 fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 47th minute. Penalty! The referee gave Ecuador a penalty, 50 minutes into the game. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-10 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The Ecuador fans' excitement grew in the 92nd match minute when Ecuador's Cristian Sancho looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-19 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. With his leg 谢广川 managed to avoid a goal in the 96thth minute, when Ecuador's Felix Montenegro fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Daniel Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 100th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without 谢广川 having to interfere. Ecuador's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
