Marcos Akerman fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 26th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Jonathan Ferrant having to interfere. Tomas Illescas took the ball and in the 27 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tifo Marinović. Tifo Marinović dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-1. A collision led to Obrero Barquisimeto getting a freekick after 31 minutes play. Otilio Galindez hit a great ball. Tomas Illescas received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 33rd minute. Tifo Marinović tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 35 played minutes Venezuela got a freekick which was hit by Tomas Illescas. After 36 played minutes Marcos Akerman rounded Venezuela's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-1. Obrero Barquisimeto's Marcos Akerman got a good chance for a goal in the 40th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Patricio Costa fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 43rd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tifo Marinović having to interfere. Daniel Kipchirchir Pikin's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Jonathan Ferrant read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Daniel Kipchirchir Pikin in the 60th minute of play. If Tomas Illescas had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 61st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. The supporters of Venezuela booed when Obrero Barquisimeto was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Feo Cadorniga didn't get a good kick on the ball. Camilo Gaos charged in rather forcefully in the 65th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Camilo Gaos the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After a rather tough play, Venezuela's Camilo Gaos got a free kick in the 65th minute. When Marcos Akerman came up free with the goalie in the 70th minute, the Obrero Barquisimeto fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcos Akerman couldn't finish the play. In the 73rd minute Marcos Akerman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Jonathan Ferrant saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tomas Illescas might have been able to make a better finish in the 74th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Tifo Marinović. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Tomas Illescas ran back to his position shaking his head. Feo Cadorniga got a throw-in 77 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Cordera Pardaves. Obrero Barquisimeto walked away with a well-earned victory that was much celebrated by the crowd.
