The audience thought a goal was coming when Niklas Bäck got free with Rolando Noboa in the 19th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After taking down the ball on Thames Ironworks FC's corner Gösta Granström fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Rolando Noboa quite easily take care of the ball. Peru's Milagros Fraga managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Magnus Engström in the 26 minute of the game. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gösta Granström during the 31st minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Gösta Granström hit a great freekick 32 minutes into the match. 32 minutes into the match, Thames Ironworks FC's goal looked a bit too open when Luz Tejedor came free, but Dick Melander reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dick Melander showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Julian Murillo, who was totally free with the ball in the 35th minute. Dick Melander showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luz Tejedor in the 44th minute of the match. Milagros Fraga kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Niklas Bäck was the one to do the kick off. Dick Melander stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Julian Murillo's shot from short distance in the 51st minute. 52 minutes into the game, Thames Ironworks FC's Torgny Forsman nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Rolando Noboa made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-0. Rickard Nilsson fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 55th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Rolando Noboa having to interfere. After a rather tough play, Peru's Efraim Gilabert got a free kick in the 56th minute. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Gösta Granström in the 57th minute of play. Julian Murillo kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. Rolando Noboa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Torgny Forsman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Dick Melander was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Julian Murillo showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-1 in the 69 minute of play. If Torgny Forsman had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 71st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Dick Melander made a fantastic save in the 80th minute, when Julian Murillo sent off a good shot on target. Rolando Noboa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niklas Bäck in the 83rd minute of play. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 88th minute of the game. One of Thames Ironworks FC:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Peru:s goal. Peru made a substitution. Eliseo Alcocer replaced Moises Gayoso. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
