Obrero Barquisimeto's Tifo Marinović played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Luca Zorita in the 6th minute of play. Tifo Marinović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Lautaro Mancebo in the 8th minute of the match. Tifo Marinović made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Joel Gaona in the 10th minute of play. In the 14th minute the ball was on its way in behind Obrero Barquisimeto's goalkeeper Tifo Marinović, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Marcos Akerman during the 19th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Xurde Buiza was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 22 minutes into the match. In the 24th minute there was a penalty for Mexico. Joel Gaona stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Tifo Marinović. 0-2. Tifo Marinović took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luca Zorita, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Luca Zorita fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 32nd minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Tifo Marinović having to interfere. Alberto Tafalla struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Tifo Marinović didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Mexico. In the 38thth minute of the game Alberto Tafalla who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Obrero Barquisimeto's Tifo Marinović was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Tifo Marinović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 41st minute of the match. Lautaro Mancebo took the ball and in the 43 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Tifo Marinović. Tifo Marinović dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-3. Disappointed in the 0-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Marcos Akerman was the one to do the kick off. Tifo Marinović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alberto Tafalla in the 53rd minute of the match. With a little luck, Obrero Barquisimeto's Tifo Marinović got control of the ball when Lautaro Mancebo tried to sneak it across the goal line. In the 60th minute Joel Gaona shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Tifo Marinović saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Richie Vasaburu hit a great freekick 63 minutes into the match. In the 67th minute, Lautaro Mancebo shot a free kick towards goal which, to his disappointment, went just outside the left post. Dante Lacasa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Marcos Akerman, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 71st minute Marcos Akerman shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dante Lacasa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Tifo Marinović showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luca Zorita in the 74th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Marcos Akerman in the 80th minute of play forced Mexico's goalkeeper Dante Lacasa to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Joel Gaona recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 83rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. With a little luck, Obrero Barquisimeto's Tifo Marinović got control of the ball when Alberto Tafalla tried to sneak it across the goal line. Lautaro Mancebo kicked well hit freekick during the 89th minute of the match. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Mexico walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
