Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Cassius Byrne in the 19th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Sebastião Xoxe prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 21st minute Cassius Byrne shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Sebastião Xoxe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 23 minutes of play, USA's Monty Rogers made it 0-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Sebastião Xoxe was left in no man's land by his defense there! When the match had gone on for 30 minutes, Cassius Byrne put it in 0-3 from a short distance just to the right of Sebastião Xoxe. Sebastião Xoxe showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Monty Rogers, who was totally free with the ball in the 33rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cassius Byrne in the 36th minute of play forced Pogoń Szczecin's goalkeeper Sebastião Xoxe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Pogoń Szczecin booed when USA was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 37 match minutes in a wonderful position. Monty Rogers didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marco Day didn't succeed to prevent the ball from going into goal when Pogoń Szczecin's Norbert Major shot an unexpected shot in the crossbar's under edge and made 1-4 in the ordered_time% minute.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Norbert Major made a kick off. Sam Campbell could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 80th minute of the match, but Sebastião Xoxe made a huge save. Despite being the better team, USA failed to find the winning goal and were forced to settle for a single point.
