Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Charly Rusterholz in the 14th minute of play. 15 minutes into the match, Charly Rusterholz notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of Venezuela's Jonathan Ferrant. Jonathan Ferrant was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Rafael Braamhaar made in the 19th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Jochem den Hartog however managed to control. When the match had been going on for 41 minutes, Rondo's Rick de Zee got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Jonathan Ferrant. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 3-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Patricio Costa to strike the kick off in the second half. Jacco Hekman received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 53rd minute.
