After some fancy dribbling in the 20th minute, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot. Ecuador's supporters rose to their feet, but Daniel Zorita was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Isak Björkdal breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Julio Vera showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Mikolaj Trac in the 21st minute of the match. Cristian Sancho sent away a hard shot on goal in the 25th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Cristian Sancho received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 30th minute. Isak Björkdal tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 33rd minute Mikolaj Trac shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Julio Vera saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. When TSIGALKO's Mikolaj Trac in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Ecuador's goalie prevented a goal. The supporters of TSIGALKO booed when Ecuador was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 35 match minutes in a wonderful position. Cristian Sancho didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isak Björkdal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Sancho, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Julio Vera made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Mikolaj Trac in the 40th minute of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Mikolaj Trac in the 43rd minute of play. The supporters of Ecuador booed when TSIGALKO was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 44 match minutes in a wonderful position. Örjan Sandell didn't get a good kick on the ball. The first half was very even, with the score at 0-0 when the whistle went for half-time. The players welcomed the break and quickly retired to the dressing rooms.

After a rather tough play, Ecuador's Agustín Saelices got a free kick in the 53rd minute. After some fancy dribbling in the 61st minute, Mikolaj Trac managed to get in a good position for a shot. Örjan Sandell kicked well hit freekick during the 66th minute of the match. Julio Vera stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mikolaj Trac's shot from short distance in the 69th minute. After having played for 88 minutes, Daniel Zorita managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Ecuador's supporters crossed their fingers, but Daniel Zorita was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd rose to their feet as Ecuador's Felix Montenegro slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Isak Björkdal. That made the score 0-1 after 90 minutes of play. Ecuador's Julio Vera played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Baldemer Feal in the 94th minute of play.
